John A. Moscati, Jr.

John A. Moscati, Jr., a partner, is a Buffalo native, graduating from Williamsville East High School in 1985.  He attended Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois, where he received a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Philosophy and Economics, and Cornell Law School, Ithaca, NY, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1992.

Mr. Moscati began his legal career in a large firm corporate department, working on merger, acquisition and securities transactions.  He then took a position as General Council for Medtek Devices, Inc., a Western New York medical device manufacturer.  Mr. Moscati joined Watson Bennett in September of 2000, and now heads the firm’s corporate and business law practice group.

Mr. Moscati’s practice covers a broad spectrum of business transactions.  He regularly works with clients on merger, acquisition and financing transactions, as well as business formation and succession planning, intellectual property protection, tax planning, licensing, executive compensation and general business counseling.  Mr. Moscati also has experience in the area of real estate development and construction law, with an emphasis on deal structuring issues.

In addition to handling business transactions, Mr. Moscati also represents a number of not for profit and charitable entities.  He has assisted individuals and groups to form charities, trade associations and charitable trusts and to obtain appropriate federal and state tax exemptions.

Mr. Moscati has a life-long affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America.  He earned the rank of Eagle Scout while growing up in Western New York and now serves on the executive board of The Greater Niagara Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America.  In January of 2007, Mr. Moscati was named the council’s Vice President of Program and a member of the council’s executive committee.

Mr. Moscati serves as the secretary and a director of CCC Charities, Inc., the charitable arm of the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce.  He previously served on the board of directors of the Kiwanis Club of Buffalo, Inc., The Buffalo Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. and the Community Action Partnership for Healthy Lifestyles, Inc.
